An Unexpected Garden Visitor

photo We enjoyed a visit from a Painted Turtle yesterday. She was likely looking for a place to lay some eggs. Last year we had a snapping turtle nest, but this was the first time we had a painted turtle rustling around in the garden for the afternoon. She was alert but not afraid of us, and she seemed determined to scout out the whole garden—no matter how many times she got stuck under the fence and had to be rescued by one of the kids!                                                                   photo Isn’t she pretty? Painted Turtles have beautifully marked shells and razor-sharp claws. Just ask my son, who was the one carefully holding her up for the camera.

Maybe we’ll be lucky and see some cute baby turtles scuttling down the street toward the swamp in a few weeks.  I certainly hope so!photo

  1. Excellent way of describing, and fastidious paragraph to get information concerning my presentation subject
matter, which i am going to convey in school.
