Jack Frost

The garden looked gray and lifeless this morning. But when I looked closer I saw this on the sage:       photoAnd every petal of this coneflower had been delicately feathered with ice.photo

I could imagine someone bending down to exhale over them and being so delighted with the results that they just couldn’t stop there, but turned to the nearby anemone leaf to create a white school of minute fish on a pale green sea.  A whole universe of life           swimming on a single leaf.                                                           photo

Drops of Jack Frost’s breath had coalesced on folded pink ribs of kale and wrapped their steel gray fronds in sparkling lights—like an early Christmas tree.
photoWhat hidden worlds await in your corner of the globe? The only way to find out is to take just a minute to look at what’s lying right beneath your feet.
