This sad state of affairs, with pigs running loose and shutters falling off the house and slackers sitting around on barrels truly cries out for help. 
Gardening to the rescue! 
So let that be a lesson to all who believe planting trees is frivolous. Clearly, landscaping creates moral rectitude as well as shade.*
