Just saw the first toad lily blossom peeking out of the greenery. What a surprise!
Normally toad lilies are the last thing to bloom in my zone 4b garden, usually in early October.
But this has been a topsy turvy summer. Weeks of cold weather in July and now super hot and humid at the end of August. I guess if I were a plant, I might be confused as well.
Still, I’ll enjoy this toad lily’s purple spotted splendor whenever she choses to arrive. Hope you do too.
